11.17.15 - Epidemic of cancer among firefighters

"For years, advocates have pushed for legislation to make it easier for firefighters to get diagnosed and treated when they are found to have cancers linked to firefighting – multiple myeloma, testicular cancer, cancer of the esophegous, breast cancer and intestinal cancer, according to the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York. Paid firefighters have won that battle."

"Now, FASNY and others have been advocating that volunteer firefighters get the same “presumptive cancer coverage" for these types of cancer."
