10.27.20 - JPMorgan powering 90% of its New York buildings with renewable energy

'JPMorgan Chase is powering more than 500 of its buildings throughout New York with clean, renewable energy under a five-year agreement with Brookfield Renewable, the financial giant announced on Tuesday.'

'Brookfield Renewable is using its hydroelectric facilities to power JPMorgan’s properties. The facilities power 90% of JPMorgan’s real estate portfolio throughout the city and state, and the energy is being tracked in real time megawatt by megawatt.'

'“Advancing sustainable practices in our own operations is a key component of JPMorgan Chase’s commitment to sustainability and a transition to a low-carbon economy,” JPMorgan’s global head of property management, Michael Norton, said in a statement.'
