Michela Wilson, Vice President
Michela is a seasoned health policy and government affairs professional with a proven track record of advancing complex legislative and budget initiatives in New York State. With expertise spanning Medicaid, behavioral health, and healthcare system delivery reform, she brings deep knowledge of both the policymaking process and the operational realities of state government.
Since transitioning into the private sector in 2021, Michela has leveraged her public sector experience to support clients navigating New York’s dynamic health policy landscape. She provides strategic counsel to a wide range of stakeholders — including associations, nonprofits, and advocacy groups — helping shape and advance state policy priorities through effective lobbying, coalition-building, and legislative engagement.
Previously, Michela served as Health Committee Director in the New York State Senate, where she advised the Chair on legislative and budget strategy, led negotiations on key health initiatives, and worked closely with agency leaders, advocates, and industry partners. She began her Senate tenure as Principal Analyst for Health and Mental Health and played a central role in high-level budget negotiations. Earlier in her career, Michela worked at the NYS Department of Health’s Office of Health Insurance Programs, where she led the implementation of various Medicaid initiatives, including the First 1,000 Days on Medicaid and DSRIP workforce projects.
She holds a BA from the University of Rochester and an MSW from the State University at Albany.
