5.4.21 - After slamming Albany, Vornado CEO says tax increases won’t hurt New York economy
'In March office landlord Steven Roth joined 250 business leaders slamming Albany for raising taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers.'
'“Ultimately, these new taxes may trigger a major loss of economic activity and revenues as companies are pressured to relocate operations to where the talent wants to live and work,” read the letter signed by Roth and sponsored by the Partnership for New York City.'
'Roth sounded a very different note on Tuesday.'
'“New York will always be a high-tax place,” he said on a conference call to discuss quarterly earnings. “It will continue to be the center of commerce and the business capital of the United States.”'
