5.2.22 - HealthAlliance’s $92.9M project at Mary’s Avenue hospital in Kingston expected to be completed by fall

' KINGSTON, N.Y. – A multi-million dollar project to transform the former Benedictine Hospital campus into a state-of-the-art medical facility is set to be completed this fall, a hospital official said Monday.

The campus, now known as HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Mary’s Avenue facility, has been under construction since a ground-breaking ceremony was held in October 2019.

HealthAlliance Executive Director and Chief Medical Officer Michael Doyle said Monday construction on the $92.9 million upgrade, which includes a new emergency room, should be completed by fall.

“We have had tremendous progress … and are on the cusp of completing this project this year,” Doyle said in a telephone interview on Monday.

Doyle, who described the project as 85% complete, added that the new facility will usher in “a new age of health in Ulster County, Kingston, and our surrounding community.”

Additionally, Doyle said final plans to turn the Health Alliance Hospital Broadway campus, once known as Kingston Hospital, into a health village are still being ironed out. That project will hopefully be completed in 2023, he added. '
