"Riverton, a storied residential complex that has long been a home for Harlem’s middle class, was one of the first properties to fall victim to speculators during the heady days of the last real estate boom a decade ago. Now, after years of uncertainty, the complex, which comprises 1,229 apartments in seven brick buildings lining a grassy mall near the Harlem River, has been sold for $205 million under an agreement with the city that keeps 975 units affordable for working- and middle-class families for 30 years."
