10.07.16 - Delta CEO says the airline is not responsible for LaGuardia’s crumbling condition
"LaGuardia Airport may have been widely panned as a Third World airport but the head of Delta Air Lines said don't blame his company for the dismal state of the airport."
"Delta Chief Executive Ed Bastian told a business conference that Delta, which accounts for 50% of the flights at the airport, kept its terminals C and D up-to-date."
"I think most of the references to LaGuardia have been to the Central Terminal Building as compared to our terminals," Bastian said Friday at the Society of American Business Editors and Writers conference. "We're not in there, we're not a part of that."
"Nevertheless, Delta has agreed to build an entirely new terminal as part of the $8 billion LaGuardia revamp the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is undertaking at the behest of Gov. Andrew Cuomo."
