08.18.2026 Vornado plans to move Penn Station subway entrance into massive new apartment tower
Vornado Realty Trust is looking to relocate one of the entrances for a Penn Station subway stop into the mixed-use tower it plans to build across from Madison Square Garden, records show.
Morgan Mann, development director at the real estate giant, filed an application with the Department of City Planning this week seeking its approval to move the entrance for the 34th Street Penn Station stop serving the A, C and E subway lines. The entryway is currently located on the northeast corner of West 34th Street and Eighth Avenue, but Vornado hopes to move it into the firm’s 38-story mixed-use building planned for 484 Eighth Ave. at the intersection’s southeast corner.
