06.30.2025 Genting’s, Resorts World Submits US$5.5 Billion Bid For Casino License And Resort In New York
Genting Malaysia Berhad announced that its unit, Resorts World New York City has submitted a $5.5 billion bid for a full-scale commercial casino license to the New York State Gaming Commission, with plans to redevelop its existing site into one of the largest integrated resorts in the United States.
The group plans to includes a 5.6 million-square-foot complex that will feature 6,000 slot machines, 800 table games, 2,000 hotel rooms, a 7,000-seat entertainment venue, more than 30 restaurants and bars, and 10 acres of public greenspace, all designed to serve both the local community and international travelers via nearby JFK Airport.
“Fifteen years ago, we made a promise to make this site an economic engine for Queens and New York,” said Robert DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East. “Today, that promise takes the next step forward with a bid that will deliver thousands of jobs, billions in tax revenue, and a destination that rivals any in the world.”
