Westchester Medical Center Health Network

In early 2016, Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHN) incorporated both Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals in Kingston, NY forming what is now Health Alliance, an integral healthcare delivery system and major employer for Ulster and the surrounding counties. In service of their mission to create a full service, sustainable, and state of the art facility, ASA has worked with leadership at HealthAlliance, WMCHN, and our partners at the New York State Department of Health to secure an additional $80 Million dollars in funding for ongoing enhanced quality programs and investments in modernizing the infrastructure of the combined campus. This funding will also continue to reward the work of the caretakers in Kingston, while allowing the scale of the combined campus to ensure the best in maternity care and substance abuse and mental health treatment to the Hudson Valley’s most vulnerable residents as a true leading Safety Net institution. By incentivizing quality care, resources identified to support HealthAlliance will assist the team to be on the cutting edge of services like telemedicine and will bring a much anticipated Medical Village to the site.

ASA was integral in creating a comprehensive communication and advocacy strategy targeted at the Executive Chamber and DOH that highlighted WMCHN’s comprehensive plan to maximize their resources to leverage talent and fund a restructuring that will change the landscape of healthcare in Kingston, maintain the highest standards of care to some of the state’s most underserved areas, and reinforce WMCHN’s enterprise-wide commitment as a leader among public hospitals.
