Transmission Developers, Inc. / Champlain Hudson Power Express

ASA guided the developer through the regulatory permitting process, navigating opposition from competitors along the way.  In April 2013, the New York State Public Service Commission granted the CHPE project a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need, thus greenlighting TDI to construct and operate the CHPE transmission project.

In recognition of CHPE’s ability to support New York’s mandatory emissions reductions targets, the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) awarded CHPE with a renewable energy contract to supply energy directly to the City, following a competitive solicitation.  ASA continues to advise TDI, which is expected to complete the project and begin operation in 2026.
